Sometimes fresh ideas are not new ideas, sometimes they're simply inspired by ideas from years gone by. In a recent shoot my model was summoning up the spirit of a 60's Bridgette Bardot. Or at least that's where we began when discussing ideas for the makeup, fashion, and the setting of the shoot. It was my intent to create a very similar photograph of a social icon with the personality of my model peering through the image. As I started shooting my attempt to recreate some those iconic shots became less the focus as the model in front of me had an interesting look and personality all her own. Having the flexibility to adapt my ideas lead to great images that captured the beauty and spirit of the person in front of me with a hint of a famous social figure.
