It is a challenge for me to resist the pull of editing many of my images in black and white. Colorless images are colorful in their own right with shadows, light, contrast, and of course the black and whites throughout the photograph. There are so many dynamic colorful images being created today with digital cameras and powerful editing software by people with so much talent. Yet, I still find myself drawn to those who create images like the pioneers of photography where monochrome was the only color to choose.
Black and white is like the denim of blue jeans, it never goes out of style. That said it can be overdone or done poorly, I'm certain I've had my own version of acid washed jeans in my black and white edits. However, the images below are some I am really proud of from a recent shoot with model Isabelle Böhnert Krueger. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
